This tut is written using a beautiful PTU kit created by Wilma4Ever
called Joy which can be purchased at Heartbeatz Store.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies: Here
Filters: Flaming Pear Flood

Open a new image 600 by 600, flood fill with white. Select all, add new raster layer, c/p Joy_Paper1 into selection.  Apply a background mask of your choice.

C/P Joy_Frame5 as a new layer, add drop shadow with these settings, vertical/horizontal 1, opacity 85, blur 5; then add a second drop shadow using the same setting except change vertical/horizontal -1.

Highlight the mask layer, make a freehand selection around a part of the image starting below the center line and extending it so that it is slightly overlapping the frame on the left and bottom. Effects/user defines plugins/flaming pear/flood and use these settings View – 23,28,56,47; Waves - 53,52,71,82 and choose a dark shade of a blue from your image.  I used #096967;  Ripple - 90,100,83
Glue – normal, select none.

Highlight the mask layer again. Open Joy_Grass2, resize to 50%, c/p as new layer, duplicate. Using the deform tool, position both layers as seen in the sample image.  Now, we don’t want those straight bottom edges.  So, use the eraser tool with the default settings except change the size to 75 and opacity to 50. Highlighting the grass layers just erase a little of the bottom so that it looks like it’s blending in with the background. Then open Joy_Flower1, resize to 50%, c/p as new layer, duplicate twice.  Position these flower layers in the grass. I mirrored one of them.  Now drag all three flowers below the grass layers.

Open Joy_fishes and Joy_Critter1, resize both to 50%. Still having the mask layer highlighted, c/p both as new layers.  I used the selection tool on one of the fish, cut, pasted as new layer so that I could separate the fish and position them where I wanted them.  Add a nice drop shadow on the bee and fish.

Now close the frame layer and merge visible. We’ll now decorate over the frame.

Open all these images and resize to 50%,  Joy_Bow3, Joy_Flower3, Joy_Flower6, Joy_Stones, Joy_Branch3, Joy_String.  We will copy and paste them all as new layers.  Move the stones to the bottom of the frame.  I used the selection tool, edit/cut the lowest bottom stone and pasted it as another new layer. Place the orange flowers on the bottom right of the frame, duplicating twice, positioning them how you like them. Move the single stone that you cut off of the cluster to under the orange flowers. Move the string to the top part of the frame. Move the bow layer on top of the string. Move the yellow flower over the middle of the bow, duplicate twice, resize some more and position the little yellow flowers on the left of the frame. Move the branch to the right side of the frame, duplicate and resize the second one a bit.  Move both layers below the orange flowers to hide the bottom of the branches.  Now add a nice drop shadow on each of the element layers.

For my focus tube I used a beautiful cookie poser called SSLisa-Cookie-Candy Fae-butterscotch2, ©2008 LKDesigns http://sophisticatedscraps.blogspot.com/. I added it to the bottom left of the image, add a drop shadow.

Now it’s time to add our text. Choose a font of your choice. Reopen Joy_Paper1 and set your foreground/stroke to pattern and select the paper. Background color was taken from one of the little yellow flowers. Type the text on a vector, rotate it slightly to the right, add a drop shadow.  Move it to the top right of the image and drag it under the string.  Use the eraser to erase some of the string to make it look like it’s weaving through the letters.  Add watermark and copyright info and you’re done.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

This tut is written using a beautiful PTU kit created by DNScraps called Ladybug in the Garden which can be purchased at Scrappetizing.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

No outside supplies needed.
Filters used: Mura’s Meister Copies

Open a new image 525 by 625, fill with white. C/P framepattern2 as a new layer. Take the magic wand and click inside the frame, selection/modify/expand 4. Add new raster layer, c/p paper17 into selection. Drag the paper layer under the frame layer. Highlight frame layer, merge down, add drop shadow.

Open brad2 and resize to 15%, c/p as new layer.  Effects/Plugins/Mura’s Meister/Copies and change the drop down on the left of the filter to Encircle, all other dropdowns and sliders remain at default, click ok. Using the deform tool, resize the circle of buttons down to about 25% of the original size. Open brad4, resize to 8%, c/p as new layer. Use Mura’s Meister/Copies again with the same settings as stated above.  Resize with the deform too to about 25% of its original size. Drag both button layers under the frame and duplicate and arrange them as shown in the sample image above. Once you have them positioned how you want them, close the frame layer and bottom white layer, merge visible, add drop shadow.

Open a cottage of your choice, resize to 50%, c/p as new layer somewhere on the bottom right overlapping the frame. Open flowerelegant3, resize to 50%, c/p on the top right of the image, duplicate and move up and to the left slightly. Highlight the top flower layer, merge down.  Drag below the cottage, position how you like it. Open another flowerelegant3, resize to 20%, c/p as a new layer above the cottage.  Duplicate and position these flowers on the left side of the base of the cottage.  Duplicate one of these smaller flower layers again and move it to the bottom right of the cottage, drag the layer below the cottage.  Open ladybugclipart2, resize to 30%, move to the bottom right of the cottage. Open dragonflyribbon2, resize to 20%, c/p as a new layer, position it where you want it.  Duplicate and position the second dragonfly. Feel free to duplicate more if you would like. Add a drop shadow to all the layers of the flowers, cottage and bugs.

Open one of the beautiful cookies supplied with the kit. These cookies are © Medi http://medievilcreations.blogspot.com/ Resize to 30%, c/p as a new layer and position it on the upper left of the image, add a drop shadow.

Close the white bottom layer, merge visible. Open the bottom layer again, crop all excess white background. Before I added my text, I resized the whole image to 91% since I like to make my tags no larger than 500 pixels on the longest size.  That is just personal preference though, don’t feel you have to resize if you don’t want to.

Now you can add your text, watermark and copyright info.  You are done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

This tut is written using a PTU kit created by Bello Scarto called Scrap Angel which can be purchased at Heartbeatz Store.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies needed: A greyscale tube of your choice.

I spent a little time playing around with the different papers in this kit and working different ways to make a background without using any other supplies. Here’s what I came up with this time.

Open a new image 550 by 550, fill with white. Open Bs_sc_paper2 in PSP and minimize it Take the preset shapes tool and set it to rectangle. Anti-alias and Create on vector should be checked, line is solid and width 1.  Set your foreground color to white and background should be set to pattern, scale 50 and pick the paper that is open as the pattern to work with. Now just make some overlapping rectangle shapes covering a major portion of the image.  Move them around and even change the position of the layers until you find an arrangement that you like. Convert to raster layer.

Duplicate this layer, move it up and to the left a bit, lower the opacity to around 45. While this layer is still highlighted, select all, float, defloat, modify/contract 6, modify/select selection border, promote selection to new layer. On this new layer, set the opacity back up to 100, flood fill with a shade of grey from your image, add a nice inner bevel of your choice.

Highlight the bottom layer and add a nice drop shadow. Highlight the duplicated layer and merge down. Highlight the border layer, add a nice drop shadow then merge down.

Using your rectangle preset shape tool again, draw a new rectangle using a shade of grey from your image. C/P Bs_sa_element28 as a new layer.  Highlight the grey rectangle shape layer and resize it using the Object Selection Tool so you have it showing around the frame on all four sides making it look like a nice border around the frame.  Convert this layer to a raster, select all, float, defloat and add a texture effect that you like.  I used blinds twice, once vertical and once horizontal. Add a drop shadow to this layer. Highlight the frame layer, c/p your tube of choice as new layer. I used a beautiful image ©Marlene Freimanis. Resize as necessary so that it’s framed nicely.  You can even use the deform tool to resize the frame to work with the height and width of the tube you are using. Drag the tube layer under the frame, add drop shadow. Highlight the frame, add drop shadow and merge down, then merge down again.

C/P Bs_sa_element31 as a new layer, resize, position and deform the element so that it looks like it’s curving up the right side, add a drop shadow. C/P Bs_sa_element21 as a new layer, duplicate. Resize, rotate and position the duplicated layer up on the left top of the image. Highlight the original element layer and resize and position it on the lower right of the image.  Add a drop shadow to each layer, merge the duplicate layer down.

Open Bs_sa_element33, resize to 30%, Image/Greyscale. C/P on a new layer, duplicate and position, rotate and resize as needed up left by the heart.  Add a drop shadow to each layer. Open Bs_sa_element36, resize to 60%, c/p as new layer and move it up on the right top part of the image.  I had to mirror the bow and rotate it slightly on mine.  You may not have to. Open Bs_sa_37 and resize to 50%, c/p it on the bottom right on top of the heart.

Add your text, watermark and copyright information.  Easy-peasy, you’re done!

Thank you for trying this tut.  I hope you enjoyed it.

This tut is written using a beautiful PTU kit created by WishingonaStarr called Green Goddess which can be purchased at Scrappetizing.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies: Vix_Mask-404 which can be downloaded from her site here.

Open a new image 550 by 550, fill with white, select all, add , select all, add new raster layer, c/p BonusPaper4 into selection. Open Vix_Mask-404, highlight the BonusPaper4 layer, Layers/New mask layer/from image, scroll the dropdown to the Vix mask, ok.

C/P GreenGoddess-.Frame as new layer. Open GreenGoddess_Poser, resize to 72%, c/p as new layer, position on the left side of the unicorn frame. C/P GreenGoddess_Feather on a new layer, mirror, position on the right of the image, drag this layer below the unicorn frame layer. Open GreenGoddess_Green, resize to 65%, position over the right side of the frame layer, duplicate. Take the freehand selection tool and make a selection of the top three leaves, c/p on new layer. Select none. Position, resize, rotate these leaves where you want them on the right side of the image.  I duplicated the leaves once again and moved them further down on the right side of the frame.  Highlight top layer, merge down twice. Add a nice drop shadow.

Open GreenGoddes_Floral, resize to 65%, c/p as new layer on the top left of the image, duplicate. Drag both layers under the poser, use the deform tool to resize as needed, rotate and position these floral layers so they look good to you. Merge the top floral layer.

C/P GreenGoddess_CagedBird as a new layer, position the top of the cage over the top of the  frame, resize if needed with the deform tool, add a drop shadow. C/P GreenGoddess_HummingBird as a new layer, resize and position with the deform tool. Crop any excess white background space on the tag making sure you do not cut off part of the mask or any element’s drop shadow.

Now it’s time to add the text, watermark, and copyright information. Export as a jpeg and you’re done!

This tut is written using a beautiful PTU kit created by Redbutterfly78  called Spring which can be purchased at here at Heartbeatz Store.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies: Vix_Mask 362 which can be downloaded from her site here

Ok, let’s get started.  Open a new image 550 by 550, fill with white, select all, add new raster layer, c/p paper4 into selection, select none. Open vix_mask 362, Layers/new mask layer/from image, select vix_mask 362 from the drop down, invert is selected, click ok. Merge group.  Effects/texture effects/texture, pick a texture you would like to use.  I used grain fine cloudy with these settings, size % 50, Image/ 0-5-10-10, Light/ color white, 315-50-30.

Open Rainbow1, resize 65%, c/p as new layer, add drop shadow. Open frame 2. Although this frame is quite interesting and I will use it in another creation with this kit, for this tag I wanted only to use the flourish with the flowers. First, I used the Hue Map to change the color of the flowers to pink.  Then I used the freehand selection tool to select around the flower doodle, edit/cut, paste as new image.  I then used my eraser to erase any parts of the wire frame that was left. Then c/p our flower doodle on a new layer and move it under the rainbow to the upper right of the tag, add a drop shadow.

Open Swing2, resize to 25%, c/p as new layer, drag layer under rainbow, position swing where you would like it, add drop shadow.  Highlight flower doodle layer, duplicate, mirror, flip, move it down to the bottom left of the tag, hiding the cut off edge under the swing.

Open the ladder, resize to 35%, c/p as new layer, use your deform tool to rotate it slightly to the left, drag the layer under the rainbow, add drop shadow.  Open another one of the fairies, resize to 30%, c/p as new layer on one of the top rungs of the ladder, add a drop shadow

Now if you look at the top right flower doodle you will see there is a little cluster of elements consisting of a pearl, purple star and aqua star that overlaps it from the rainbow image.  Highlight the rainbow layer and use your selection tool to select that little cluster and click on Edit/cut. Paste as new layer and move it somewhere on the lower portion of the tag.  I duplicated this layer several times and moved each one here and there around our tag.

Open deko20, resize to 35%, c/p as new layer, position it where you want it, duplicate, resize a bit smaller and position it where you want it.  Add as many of these little hearts as you would like. Add a drop shadow to each layer

Open Butterfly6, resize to 30%, c/p as new layer, rotate slightly to the right and move it somewhere on the bottom right of the tag. I duplicated the butterfly 3 times and placed them here and there on the tag, rotating and resizing with the deform tool. Add a drop shadow to each layer.

Add your text, watermark and copyright information. Export as a .jpeg and you’re done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

This tut is written using a PTU kit created by KC Kits called Beach Street which can be purchased at Heartbeatz Store.   It was written using PSPX, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

No additional supplies needed!
Filters used: MuraMeister Copies, Clouds

Open a new image 550 by 550, fill with white, select all, add new raster layer. C/P TagPaper4 into selection. Open TagMask2, resize to 40%, merge flat.  Click on Layers/new mask layer/from image, scroll the dropdown to pick the mask, click ok. Merge group.

Open TagFlourish3, resize to 40%. C/P as new layer. Effects/user defined filter/murameister copies.  Use these settings: H-Tile(random V-line), Random V-line, H-Tile, Behind, 8-50-70-0-0-0-100-100-0-0-0-30-0, OK. Image/flip.  Now use your deform tool and move in the sides so that it’s placed on the solid part of the mask, not the curly-Q edges.  Then bring down the top so that it is at about the middle of the mask layer.  Set your blend mode to Luminance (L), opacity around 50%.

Take the selection tool and make a rectangle selection starting at the top left of the solid part of the mask layer and bring it down to the middle of the mask layer. Effects/user defined filter/murameister clouds. Set your background color to the color of the background paper you used, top too colors are both white.  Settings I used are 59-71-2 and the rest are 0’s.

Ok, now we have our version of waves on the beach under a nice blue sky. Let’s start adding our decorative elements. I used a tube by Popeye Wong, ©Popeye Wong, www.popeyewong.com. C/P the focal tube you choose as a new layer.  Place it where it looks good to you. Add a nice drop shadow.

I added TagTree, then duplicated it and resized it smaller and positioned both of them behind my focal tube. Highlight the top tree and merge down.  I then added TagUmbrella to the right side of the image, add drop shadow. C/P as new layer TagBeachBall and move it to the bottom of the umbrella handle, add a drop shadow.  Merge down.

Open TagIndexCard2, resize to 40%.  C/P as a new layer and resize further if necessary. I wrote a note using black as my background color and foreground color is null. The font I used is called Valerie. Center alignment is clicked on the text tool, leading set to -0.400.  I then rotated the text a bit to the left, convert to raster, merge down.  Using the deform tool I rotated the note a bit to the right. C/P TagClip3, resize and rotate with deform tool, merge down.  At this point you can position the note where you want it. C/P a few of the shells and star fish as new layers, resize and position around the bottom of the tag.  Add a nice drop shadow on each new layer.

Right-click on one of the layers in the layers palette, merge visible.  Your tag should be one layer now.  Add your text, watermark and copyright information and you’re done!
