Quiet Summer Day

This tut was written by me, Em Jay, on 2-19-10 with all rights reserved.  Please do not copy and paste it in any group or call it your own. You can link to it using a text link to my blog.

This tut is written using a PTU kit created by Raggedee Annie’s Graphics called Dragonflies and Dandelions which can be purchased  here at Scraps with Attitude.   It was written using PSP9, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

You will also need:  Filter Unlimited 2.0
EyeCandy 5 Nature

The tube I used is with permission ©Elena Dudina, http://elenadudina.deviantart.com. In keeping with the theme of this tag, choose a pretty little fairy as your focus tube.

We’re going to do something a little different with this beautiful kit. We’re going to make and frame a pretty picture.  Open a new image 450 by 300, select all, copy/paste RAG_DandD-Tg064 into selection. Effects/User Defined Filter/Plug-ins/Filter Unlimited 2.0. On the left column click on  Convolution Filters; right column click on Emboss(strong) and you can use the random button to find a look you like. Then click apply.

Open RAG_DandD-Tg001. Resize to the width of 450pix. Copy/paste as a new layer,  align along the bottom of the image and use your deform tool to lower the top of the element down to a height of around 150. Add a nice drop shadow.

Open RAG_DandD-Tg005, resize to 30%. Copy/paste somewhere along the bottom grassy area.  Position and resize as needed with the deform tool, add drop shadow. I also used two copies of RAG_DandD-Tg003. Resizing with the deform tool and placing them on each side of the image on the grassy area.

Open RAG_DandD-Tg017 and Tg018.  Resize both to 40% and copy/paste as a new layer on the top right and left corners of the image.  Add a drop shadow to each layer. Open RAG_DandD-Tg037 and Tg040. Resize both to 20%.  Copy/paste each as new layer, position and resize as needed with the deform tool. Add a drop shadow to each layer. I also added RAG_DandD-Tg087, Tg088 and Tg021, following the steps above about resizing and positioning.  Don’t forget to add a drop shadow to each new layer.  And please feel free to add any other elements you would like to your image, all on new layers and add drop shadows to those layers.

Click on the bottom layer with the paper and add a new raster layer. Select a shade of yellow from a dandelion as the background color.  Click on your paint brush and select any one of your custom grunge brushes. Starting at around the middle of the left edge of the image, right-click your brush while working your way up to the top left corner and across the top to the middle of the top edge.  Now you can duplicate that layer 3 times, highlight the first copy, click on mirror; second copy, click on flip; and the third copy, click on mirror/flip. Merge all flat.

We are going to add the frame. Select a dark color from your image for your foreground color and a lighter color from your image for your background color. Image/add borders, symmetric should be checked. Size in pixels should be 4.  Right-click on the color shown and on the bottom of that little window click on the dark foreground color. Click OK. Use the magic wand and click on that border, effects/3Deffects/inner bevel, use whatever settings that look good to you.  Leave selected, selection/select all, selection/modify/contract 4. Effects/3Deffects/cut out using these settings, vertical/horizontal 2, Opacity 62, Blur 24, Shadow color black, fill interior with color is NOT checked. Click OK.  Repeat these same steps only change the vertical/horizontal settings to -2.

Image/add borders 1, use the light background color. Add borders 1, use the dark foreground color, add borders 1, once again use the light background color.  Add borders 20, use the dark color. Magic wand and select this last border, effects/user defined filter/plug-ins/Eyecandy 5 Nature/Rust. The settings I used are: Feature size 40, Coverage 50, Edge roughness 75, Soften spots 60, Texture variation 40, click on the button on the right of the color that’s shown and click on eyedropper.  Select a color for the rust from your image. You can click on random until you get something you like, click ok. Leave selected, effects/3Deffects/inner bevel, select a bevel that you like. Select none. Add borders 1, light color. Add borders 1, dark color.

Promote background to layer, add new raster layer 3 times. Right click on bottom layer, Arrange/Send to top. Highlight bottom layer. Click on Image/canvas size and add 100 to both the width and height. Lock aspect ratio is NOT checked. Under placement, the center button is clicked.  Flood fill this bottom layer with white.

Open RAG_DandD-Tg055 and Tg068. Highlight top layer, select all/float/defloat, highlight layer 2, Copy/paste Tg055 into selection. Highlight layer 3, Copy/paste Tg068 into selection. Select none. Click on layer 2, Image/rotate/free rotate, right is checked, free is ticked, type in 10, rotate single layer around canvas center is checked, OK. Highlight layer 3 and repeat free rotate with same settings except this time left is checked. Add a drop shadow to each paper layer and the top image layer.

Add a little cluster of flowers on the bottom right corner of the frame, using your deform tool to resize and position. Add a drop shadow to each flower. Merge visible. Add your text, watermark and copyright information, then you’re done.

Thanks for trying this tutorial.  Hope you enjoyed it!

Rainbow Rockz

This tut was written by me, Em Jay, on 2-16-10 with all rights reserved.  Please do not copy and paste it in any group or call it your own. You can link to it using a text link to my blog.

This tut is written using a PTU kit created by Hippiedaze called Rainbow Rockz which can be purchased at Scrappetizing here.   It was written using PSP9, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

The tube I used is ftu www.popeyewong.com. General permission artist that allows you to tube any image on his site or he also offers images already tubed. I have supplied it here or you can use your own tube.

Tag will be animated with Animation Shop

Open new image 500 by 500, flood fill with white. Using your present shapes tool, draw a rectangle (any color) 415 by 175, convert to raster. Select all, float, defloat, modify/expand 1. Flood fill with a paper of your choice. Selection/modify/select selection borders, inside is ticked, anti-alias is checked, border width 6. Change background color on your material palette to gradient, scroll to default gradient aspectrum, style – linear, angle – 45, repeats – 1. Right click to flood fill the border, keep selected. Effects/3D effects/inner bevel.  My settings are bevel 2, width 8, smoothness 25, depth 4, ambience 14, shininess 16, angle 315, intensity 50, elevation 34. Add drop shadow, select none.

Open element 47 and resize by 50%. Copy/paste element 47 as a new layer.  Move it over your rectangle. Resize if necessary with your deform tool. Add a drop shadow using these settings. Horizontal/vertical 1, opacity 84, blur 0, color white. Open element 43, resize by 50%. Using the deform tool, rotate and position as shown.  Erase the part of the rock pass that is over the corner of the rectangle to make it look like it is hanging over the corner. Merge visible.

Copy/paste element53 as new layer.  Position it as shown in the sample image.

Copy/paste the tube and position it, add drop shadow. Now add as many accent elements from the kit as you want to.  Don’t forget to add a drop shadow on each one.

Add copyright information and your watermark on a new layer.  Drag this layer down to above the bottom layer.  Merge down.

Add your text. I used the aspectrum gradient for the foreground and a color from the image for the background color. Once you have your text how you want it, add a drop shadow.

Close off the bottom two layers of your image. Highlight the top layer, merge visible.

Animation Shop

You can open all layers and should have only 3 now.  Highlight the middle layer with the record. Copy and paste into Animation Shop as a new animation. In AS click on Effects/insert image effects. Animation frame should be ticked. Effect length 1.5, frames per second 6 fps, Effect – Rotate.  Click on customize, Maximum angle 360, canvas color should be ticked. Click OK…OK. The animated record should now have 10 frames.

Back in PSP highlight the bottom layer.  Copy and paste into AS as a new animation.  Duplicate selection as many times so that your new animation has ten layers.  If you end up with too many, just delete the extra ones. Now copy the top layer from PSP to AS as a new animation and duplicate it until you have 10 frames.

In AS highlight the bottom layer of your image. Edit/select all.  Highlight the record animation. Edit/select all. Now hold the left click button and drag the first frame of the record animation onto the first frame of your background image, making sure you position it correctly before you let go of the mouse button. Now highlight the top layer of the image, Edit/select all.  Drag the first frame onto the first frame of the record/background layer, position and release the mouse button.

Save as a .gif and you’re done!

Thank you for trying this tut.  I hope you enjoyed it.

Highlight the third layer and take your magic wand and click outside of the circle. Now highlight your second layer and click delete. Take your freehand selection tool set on point to point and draw around the bottom of the top tube layer and a little bit inside of the circle, click delete.  The top part of your tube should be overlapping the circle a bit.

Open the color of bow you want to use, image/resize 10 percent. Copy/paste the bow as a new layer. Use the deform tool to rotate it to the left about 35 degrees.  Hold the shift key while you position the corners of the bow to be as close to the circle’s edges as you can get them. Add a drop shadow.

Open two wine glasses.  I used wineglasses01 and 02.  Image/resize 22 percent, copy/paste each one on its own layer. Use the deform tool and rotate one to the left and one to the right about 25 degrees, move them into position, then merge the top layer down, add a light drop shadow.

Aurora

Aurora

This tut was written by me, Em Jay, on 2-10-10 with all rights reserved.  Please do not copy and paste it in any group or call it your own. You can link to it using a text link to my blog.

This tut is written using a PTU kit created by Disyas Digital Designs called Aurora which you can find here   It was written using PSP9, but is adaptable to any version and is for people with a good working knowledge of PSP.

Needed supplies: Here

Open a new image 600 x 600, floodfill with white. Copy/paste Disyas_A_PF1 as new layer, copy/paste Disyas_A_Deco_Fr2 as new layer, position and resize with deform tool. Highlight layer with green frame and take the magic wand and click inside the center, selection/modify/expand 4. Add new raster layer, copy/paste the paper of your choice into selection.  I used AuroraP8.  Select none, drag paper layer down below green frame.

It’s time to add your focus tube.  I used a tube by the general permission artist Cris Ortega which I included in the supplies.  You can use your own tube if you would like though. Copy/paste the tube as a new layer, duplicate it, drag the bottom tube below the green frame, drop shadow the bottom tube only.  Highlight the layer with the green frame and once again click on the center with the magic wand, click on the layer with the bottom tube, invert selection, delete. We want the wings to be on top of the frames, so highlight the top angel tube and use your freehand selection tool set to point to point and draw around the bottom part of the tube that is over the frames and a little ways inside of the frame.  Hit delete.

Now, let’s decorate the tag with the beautiful elements included in this kit. Open Disyaz_AuroraT2 and resize by 50%, copy/paste it as a new layer on the top right of the frames, positioning and resizing to your liking with the deform tool.  Open Disyas_A_RibFr1 and RibFr2. Resize by 50%. Copy/paste each one as a new layer and position/resize them how you like over the last tag element layer.  Resize and copy/paste Disyas_Aurara_WA2 as a new layer and move it to the cluster of bows as shown on my image. And I also added Disyas_Aurora_but1 and but2 as new layers, resized and rotated them with the deform tool.  Now add a nice drop shadow to each of the six layers we just made.

Close the bottom white layer and merge visible. Open bottom layer and add new raster. We’re going to add a background brush using the gradient color included in the supplies. You can use any type of grid or grunge or whatever background brush you like.  Just swoop your brush from the top left to the bottom right.  Stay away from the sides because we don’t want to have any straight edges. Add as much or as little background color as you like.

Time to add your watermark, copyright information and text. Merge all, export as a jpeg and you’re done.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Open both poser angels, duplicate them and close the originals. Resize each by 65%. Copy/paste one over the right frame, duplicate and drag original below the frame.  Do the same with the second poser over the left frame. Drop shadow bottom layers of both posers. Highlight the bottom angel on the right side and close the top duplicate layer. Use your lasso set to point-to-point, antialias checked. Make a selection from arould the bottom of that frame and down around the bottom of her gown, hit delete. Highlight top duplicate copy of the poser and use your lasso tool to select the bottom of her dress. Don’t be afraid to go inside the frame because the bottom layer will be there. Leave the wings showing on top of the frame.  Do the same thing with the poser layers on the left frame.

Open candle and candle2. Resize and shape them with your deform tool. Make a little cluster of candles and merge the candles together on one layer, add a drop shadow. Copy/paste love_charm4 and resize and position it, add drop shadow. Add text, copyright and watermark.  Open both Small_Glittery_Stars and use your selection tool to select the very top star, cut, paste as new layer.
